What I now fear, is the fact that the real culprits and the people actually involved in the wiring of money under the table would be breathing easy. The focus has shifted. Mr A. Raja would be going back for his morning as peacefully as before. Now, the issue of the journalists will be blown out of proportion by the journalists, beyond measure. Everybody will soon forget the 'scamsters' and things will be back to being happy and gay.
Another thing I have noticed from past 2 weeks is that, every guest columnist is not a leaving a damn opportunity to proclaim himself transparent-clean in their latest columns. There was an article in last weeks' TOI where one very clearly and smoothly walked himself out of the controversy. I am not accusing anyone, but somehow this doesn't go down the throat well.
In todays HT Editorial page 12, also appear a similar few columns attempting cleansing rituals. Excerpts:
Indrajit Hazra: while on a conversation with his mum;
His mum: "Of course not. But why didn't anyone even mentioning your name in passing? You've been in Delhi for 13 years. People int he neighborhood have been asking whether your name is there in the transcripts. I've been telling them that there are 82,665 pages documenting.. What do I tell them now?"
Karan Thapar: "what the hell had I been doing all these years if not one person in the Radia tapes had mentioned my name-not even int he context of me once standing in the bathroom next to a middle-level Congress minister. Is it because I'm incorruptible? "
Best of Luck guys..!!
