Random thought - Ever thought about being offered a lift, all the way back home-20 kms, by a white collared entrepreneur in his swanky black Honda Civic? Why? He owns a villa next to the flat where you live, but barely knows you beyond the fact you work a zillion levels under him in the 'corporate ladder' ?
Probably not.
The one reason why I find this not unusual is, the obviously - 'who the hell are you a-hole?' question bombarding his immature brain cells, which, what you and I may think it is. What bothers me is the fact that behind a lot of successful people (okay.. whatever), 'publicly', there is an uncanny urge they have which lingers on the edge of humility. And what they brand it, as- Professionalism. And then, again the next morning they are out there to help you with tax benefits, loans or some shit stuff.
My point- Please define the term-Professionalism, very clearly and try to incorporate a few clauses which allows your 'corporat-esteem' to have lunch with a much junior staff in the caffetaria. Although, let it not be like the Indian Constitution, having 90K pages with a million clauses for each clause(Class 7 civics..scored 90 :D) with each successive clause challenging the morality and existence of the one right above.
There is no harm if you would donate few hundreds to a charity run by your business rival's distant cousin. The earth will not rip open and you will sucked into it, if you wished the photocopy guy on his b'day with a genuine smile.
Have I already spoken too much that you being one of 'them' is already willing to throw my job application to your company, in the bin after having termed me as a -kid.
To conclude, is this what we really are striving for, or am I just being too naive and eluded from the 'real' picture. Have I been just too cynical in my opinion.? Or, are you also of the opinion that probably I would understand it myself when I am one amongst the butchers?
Because I don't think I would. Honest opinions welcomed people..!!
